i was all smug with myself, having ordered most of the kids' gifts on amazon, and adding to it w/ their big gifts the hubs and i got two weeks ago. my last shipment came today and i'm sitting here with these boxes in my pod thinking, huh, it's not really that much stuff.
i do this every year. me, the anti-materialistic member of the family, does not know when to quit christmas shopping for the kids. their big gifts are quite nice, though we really, really did get them for steals i tell you. the boy is getting a digital camera and the girl is getting a camcorder. seriously, they are not high-dollar, high-end, high-tech things, but they are nice.
aside from that they are each getting a couple of books, dvds and a cd, a couple of shirts, electronic banks, book making kits and another toy.
this is where i'm such a wishy washy dumb ass because really, i'm the one saying they have way too much shit as it is and it's not how many or how much you get (because i really do feel that way) but damn i love giving presents. and damn i love getting presents.

OH. MY. GOD. I swear you are starting to freak me out.
I do the same thing. They gave us lists, we fulfilled their every desire, and I don't feel like there will be enough presents under the tree. I get so stressed out.

hotch--maybe one of us was adopted? we were separated as small children? if so i'd like to be the one that was adopted cos your parents can't be as bad as mine : )
shere--this part of parenting sucks.
Yep, my life too. D and I are going out tomorrow night to try to fill in the gaps.
Of course, my kids are blessed with birthdays all right after the holiday, so we have to save something for their birthdays too. Joys.
That's the problem with shopping early. I have time to see other stuff on sale. Bad, bad, bad. Patrick's birthday is on Jan 14th, though, so anything overmuch can be put aside to wait until then, especially this year when they both basically wanted the same stuff.
k and astarte--the girl's bday is in jan. too so i do the same w/ her (overflow=bday).
