bad mom; movie review and bad taste

this morning i had the audacity to make the girl wear a coat! holy cripes it was like below 30 degrees this morning, our high might be 43 degrees and i had to MAKE her wear a coat. she tried explaining to me that she was wearing a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie, she didn't need a coat. uh, yes you do. so, as we're standing in the garage at 6:45 a.m. she refused to talk to me and wouldn't stand IN the garage, because that was too close to me, but rather in the driveway. she left without speaking. she has no idea how that makes for a bad morning for me.

p.s. i love you was on hbo this weekend. we watched it. for those who may not know, it's a chick flick. hilary swank (is it me or is something just a bit off in her features? not that she's not pretty, but it's just askew) plays a widow who gets letters from her dead husband. hole.e.shit talk about a bawl fest. seriously. i know it's hollywood manipulating me but omg it killed me. it was sweet and sad and romantic and all of those things.

*********
i love oatmeal. i often bring the pre-made oatmeal packs to work to eat mid morning because otherwise i don't really do breakfast. the last time i was at the grocery store i decided to try to be good and got the quaker weight control version. i was all smug w/ myself this morning as i made that. i sat down at my desk and started eating it while culling through work email. omg. that shit is nasty. seriously. i ate it all, but it was nasty. i think it must have a splenda or shit after taste. really, i won't be eating any more of that crap. let me know if you want the rest of the box, there's only one packet missing. eww. i might have to get a cinammon bun out of the vending machine to cancel out the nasty taste in my mouth. (don't go there.)

**********
the hubs did most (maybe all) of the outside decorating this weekend. love his heart. we inadvertantly have a snowman theme going on. i love snowmen so i guess i buy a lot of snowman christmas stuff. (there are no christmas penguins in the yard) though there are penguin ornaments on our trees. i can't help it. many of them were gifts.

the awesome sherry finished the button for my holiday meme thingy so i will post that, with the rules, tonight so check back for more fun and adventures ; )

I hate the weight control oatmeal too. That's how you lose weight- by not eating anything afterwards due to the bad taste in your mouth! ;P

I hate oatmeal unless it's in the form of a cookie with raisins and/or chocolate chips. There is NOTHING I like about it.

I do however like penguins with Christmas hats. I may need to send you some. hehe

bea--see, that's how it would work for YOU! you'd run 3 miles, eat that nasty crap and then not eat. i'd not run three miles, eat that nasty crap and then cover up the taste w/ something better.

kristin--i love oatmeal. do you like cream of wheat? i don't do grits, those are nasty. and if you send me a penguin w/ a christmas hat i might not like it but i would hang it on my tree : ) he he

You're such a meanie. Looking after her like that.

I decided to put out our reindeer today in 17 degree weather. It was the last thing, but it would have been easier when it was warmer.

heinous--reindeer? cool.

broad--grits. ew. i mean just the name isn't even palatable. though, to be fair, i think they are the same consistency as cream of wheat and i love that shit.

I am late to this party but I love grits. mmmm....grittalicious. I do NOT love oatmeal, but can tolerate the packs with all the added sweet stuff, peaches n cream, etc.

I must have missed a post, do you not enjoy the Christmas penguin? Santa is north pole, Penguin is south pole. Equal opportunity my friend.

FYI. If I wasn't being frugal this Christmas I totally would have a Christmas giraffe from KMart.

Maple and brown sugar, instant quaker oatmeal is my favourite. But I love it from scratch even more.

Jordan gives me a hard time about wearing a coat. I mean, we live in Canada, and there's snow on the ground. Why would you not want to wear a coat?

hotch--i have a serious issue w/ christmas penguins because they live at the south pole not north pole w/ santa and all those polar bears. i heart penguins and hate, hate hate them being exploited at christmas (ok, i know that's totally ridiculous) but they should not be depicted frolicking w/ polar bears. it's just geographically WRONG. (putting away childish soap box now)

shere--that's my fave oatmeal flavor too. what is it w/ freaking kids and no coats? although--can i get a hells yeah--she apologized to me this evening because yes it was cold and she did need her coat. ha!

Uh-oh, I just bought some of that oatmeal today. Crap. Maybe I won't mind??? Well, if worse comes to worse, I'll give it to DH to take to work - he's diabetic and doesn't mind splenda taste. Blecch.

Hillary Swank looks like a horse, and she has the biggest teeth I've ever seen on a human being. I can't bring myself to watch anything with her in it.

Hell, let the girl go without a coat. She'll be sorry later!!!!

astarte--give that shit to DH cos it is really nasty. seriously. the hubs also is diabetic but i'm not sure he'll eat it.

and, today? the hubs did let the girl go w/out a coat, trying to teach her a lesson. but, i don't think she learned it yet. plus, tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 60s here.
