first--what side dishes do you typically serve? i am in a food rut. a rut i tell you. the girl and the hubs prefer carbs (mac & cheese, potatoes in any form, etc.) and the boy...he's an enigma. he eats meat and veggies (mostly cos i force the issue) but i'm stumped for interesting sides. for all you
second--i've been sitting here window-online-shopping tonight as the hubs is about to have a stroke over the election results so far. do you shop online? what are your favorite shopping sites? i do amazon and covet a lot of things at signals, wireless, uncommon goods and the usual suspects (wasn't that a kickass movie?) target, toysrus, etc.
so, that's what i need from you, recipes and online shopping sites. ok, go! : )

poor hubs. although i know he doesn't believe this, it really will be ok.
now as a cook/freak let me share some interesting easy sides (tell me which ones interest you and i will email you instructions): broiled asparagus, sauteed squash and zucchini, squash casserole, spinach and salsa, roasted potatoes, sweet potato fries
most of my shopping is clothes related: old navy, boden, jjill, children's place, gymboree, ann taylor loft, aldo, crate and barrel, barnes and noble, williams sonoma, pottery barn, pottery barn kids, land of nod.
We always have a vegetable or two at dinner~broccoli, corn, beats, mixed veggies, etc.
We also have some sort of a side~fries, potatoes, couscous, rice or pasta.
I shop at Amazon, Old Navy, Lands End, Gymboree, Childrens Place, William Sonoma, Barnes & Noble or Borders. I'm not very original.
Every once in a while, I like to add a little easy variety with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, or a veggie plate with a few interesting dips. The raw veggies have more nutrients, and the kids willingly eat them, in large quantities.
Cold salads are nice for a change, too. Tossed, ceasar, potato, greek pasta, there are limitless varieties.
thanks for the side dish recommendations. i do make some of those but ultimately my challenge is force feeding the three of them (yes, including the hubs) veggies.
and not to dis you my dears, but i was looking for something DIFFERENT w/ the shopping sites : ) he he
